St. Vincent

PeanutButterFalcon.jpg

A young boy whose parents have just divorced finds an unlikely friend and mentor in the misanthropic, bawdy, hedonistic war veteran who lives next door.

St. Vincent is one of those special films that finds inner beauty in flawed people. I like how this movie peels back the layers of ugliness and flaws to find the best of a person inside. The grumpy old man mad-at-the-world routine lends itself to some good humor, but the overall message of a child seeing the good in people is what makes this movie so great.
