JoJo Rabbit

A young German boy in the Hitler Youth whose hero and imaginary friend is the country's dictator is shocked to discover that his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home.

If you would have told me it's possible to create a good respectful comedy about the horrors of the Nazi's I would have called you crazy, but writer/director Taika Waititi pulled it off. This movie has a lot of humor and heart. I think it tells a powerful story about a dark time in history from the point of view of an innocent German child who doesn't know any better. His imaginary friend is Adolf Hitler, and because he's a figment of the boy's imagination he possesses a variety of funny quirks. It's not all laughs either, this movie has some really sad moments as well. If you see it, and you should, be ready for a rollercoaster of emotions.
