Tin Cup

PeanutButterFalcon.jpg

A washed up golf pro working at a driving range tries to qualify for the US Open in order to win the heart of his successful rival's girlfriend.

Tin Cup is one of my all-time favorite sports romantic comedies. I really like the all or nothing attitude of Roy McAvoy (Kevin Costner) on and off the golf course. Romeo (Cheech Marin) is a fantastic right-hand man. I also like how smart Dr. Griswold (Rene Russo) is in some areas of her life, but very naive and vulnerable in other areas. The protagonists in this film are very likable. You root for them. David Simms (Don Johnson) is the perfect antagonist and rival. Every character has strengths and weaknesses. They fit together like puzzle pieces. And I really love the ending!
