Sleepers

PeanutButterFalcon.jpg

After a prank goes disastrously wrong, a group of boys are sent to a detention center where they are brutalized. Thirteen years later, an unexpected random encounter with a former guard gives them a chance for revenge.

This isn't a movie I would recommend to everyone, but if you like darker crime dramas this ranks among the best. It is exceptionally casted, acted and told. It covers a lot of time as well. The film starts off being a coming of age story following young boys from the streets surrounded by crime. Later, the film transitions to a revenge story as a court room drama. It even has a nice nod to The Count of Monte Cristo.
